Planning permission for High Road, Wembley
Councillors on the London Borough of Brent Planning Committee voted unanimously to approve plans by Henley Homes to build 248 homes as well as a public piazza and flexible commercial space on High Road.
Cratus provided a comprehensive community and political engagement programme, which reached out to local residents during an extensive pre-application consultation process which was not without challenges.
Speaking on the work undertaken by Cratus, Ben Sherreard, Executive Director said: “This was a constrained site which demanded a lot from all consultants on the team. I am very proud to say that we did our bit, delivering a robust and inclusive consultation which saw only three objections submitted during the statutory consultation period.
This was not a consultation without challenges, with a nazi bomb discovered next door to our public event on opening day and pockets of high transience amongst the local community.
Achieving meaningful engagement and maintaining that was a real result for us; it has been an absolute pleasure working with Henley Homes on this scheme which very much brings together excellent design and wider community benefits, no corners have been cut and we cannot wait to see it come out of the ground.”
Commenting after permission Phil Kapur of Henley Homes said: I was very happy with the work carried out by Cratus on this exciting and significant application. The proposals will provide an excellent design solution to the former Brent House site delivering high quality housing and a new public piazza of the High Road.
